2008 Eligibility

  • All students participating in the FFA Career Development Events must be bona fide FFA members currently enrolled as an agriculture education student and meet all enrollment and/or certification of eligibility requirements.
  • In Oklahoma, participants in a State FFA Career Development Event may be 8-9-10-11-12th grade FFA members, unless a particular event requires a specific age. However, it is important to note that the National FFA Organization only allows FFA members who are 9-10-11-12th grade FFA members, at the time of their selection as a national team member, to participate in a national CDE area. Put another way, 8th grade FFA members that are a part of a state winning CDE team, are not eligible to participate on that team at the national level. Questions about rules and regulations pertaining to national contests should be directed to the State FFA Office, Agricultural Education Division, Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education.
  • In order to be eligible to represent Oklahoma in the National FFA Judging Event, at least two members of the qualifying team must participate in the national event for which they are qualified. If at least two members cannot participate, the second team will be eligible. Questions about rules and regulations pertaining to national contests should be directed to the State FFA Office, Agricultural Education Division, Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education.
  • Any member who has represented Oklahoma in a national contest or national awards area as a 4-H or FFA member is ineligible to compete again in the National Qualifying Contest for that area as an FFA member.
  • FFA members are eligible to participate in only one state Career Development Event hosted by OSU on Saturday, April 26, 2008.
